For me, first blog posts are feverishly exciting yet difficult to start! There’s so much I want to say and share with you all. So let me just start by introducing a little (a lot) about myself!
Hi, I’m Nima, your personal Professional Organizer at Cozy Organized Nook. We are a family of four living in Ottawa. I grew up in India and moved to the US of A after marriage in 2010. We have finally found a new home in this lovely country, Canada!
My husband is an IT professional. And being a wife of an IT professional deputed in the US only meant one thing – living out of the bag, and nomad life. In 10 years of marriage I have moved 15 times (still counting till we are able to afford our own house). We have moved locally, interstate and also internationally! Having to fit our household items in various kinds of spaces was what I have been doing these past years.
I have two kids who are a constant challenge to my sanity regarding keeping our house organized! Yet, I love them so much that I could eat them!
I am a homebody, and my hobbies would include – writing, crocheting, cleaning the house, cuddling with my kids, eating lip smacking food made by my husband! I can speak 5 languages – English, French, Konkani, Marathi, and Hindi.
How did I get into Professional Organizing?
Organizing comes naturally to me. Hence, I decided to take that a step further and pursue a career in full-time organizing. But honestly, I didn’t even know Professionally Organizing was a thing!! Just before moving to Canada, I was reading a book where one of the characters was a Professional Organizer. It was such an enlightening moment! I went, “Wait a min, so people get paid for the things I do in this house for free?!” :))
That’s when I looked it up online and soaked every bit of information that I could get. As soon as we moved to Ottawa, I knew it was time for me to get down to business.
I then enrolled myself for a Professional Organizing course at the Ultimate Academy™ and got my certification. I can proudly announce my name as “Poornima Kamath, UCPO™, Certified Ultimate Professional Organizer”. I understand it is difficult having a total stranger come into your personal space. Being a member of a busy household myself, I know how fast things can get out of control and stay overwhelming! With me, there is zero judgment and complete confidence.
I admit, going into business is scary, but what makes it worth, is the satisfaction of making people happy through my work. My goal for Cozy Organized Nook is to build it on sincerity and hard work, and grow it organically with my clients’ love and support!
